I've read that the prices here at Commonman aren't 'common' at all, and indeed they aren't. Our juice + 3 dishes (1 starter and 2 mains) already cost us ~S$80+:
Orange & Grapefruit juice (S$8) - this soury mixture needs a little while to get used to:
Home-made Granola, Fresh Fruit and Greek Style Honey Yogurt (S$14) - I almost mistook the slab of yogurt for poached eggs from afar hahaha. The honey yogurt balances out the sourness of the raspberries, strawberries and blackberries. I really love the homemade granola bits, which are really crunchy and chewy at the same time. There are tons of raisins inside too which suits a raisin-lover like me perfectly!:
Organic Eggs Benedict (S$24) - 2 poached eggs on artisanal sourdough toast (which was a little burnt at the sides and realllyyy hard lol) and tender braised ox cheeks. I really love how it's different from the usual ham/bacon/salmon combination. The juicy ox cheeks give a really smooth and melt-in-the-mouth texture which kind make up for the hard toasts:
Just look at the eggyolk flow. Mmmmmmmm......:
Grilled Chilli 'Boneless' Chicken (S$25) - the meat is really tender and juicy, and the spicy exterior provides a really nice punch even for a chilli-lover. The crushed avocado salsa helps in cooling and bringing down the spiciness:
I love the food served here (though a tad expensive), but I was pretty disappointed with the service. The staff weren't attentive and they were really slow in clearing tables etc even though they weren't busy with anything else. A bunch of times too we raised our hands to get the waiters' attention but to no avail.
