Spent a few hours this afternoon with my Mum @ Artistry, a cafe-cum-art gallery:
Flat White & Latte (S$5 each) - they use locally roasted Liberty coffee beans which I love:
Red Velvet Cake (~S$6) - their bestseller/signature cake, which is light and not as sweet as it looks. Besides the usual cream cheese icing, it is also topped with a generous amount of coconut shavings which add to the texture of the cake. This cake is highly raved but I still prefer red velvet cakes with solely cream cheese toppings:
Lemon Poppyseed Cake (~S$6) - served with lemon curd at the side. I usually love anything lemony, but I guess it's a different story when poppy seeds are in the picture. Overall the cake tastes weird to me, but my Mum thinks it's okay:
Blueberry Crumble (~S$6) - the least 'gelat' cake out of the 3, and strangely addictive after awhile (though it tasted really sweet on the 1st bite):
Besides their home-baked cakes, they also have pies from Windowsill Pies which are really worth a try. They've recently started serving food as well, but the menu's pretty limited so I didn't get any.
Service was a little slow, but really good! The staff was chatty (in a positive way) and really friendly.

I always find it weird that some red velvet cakes have the coconut shavings as a topping! In my opinion the normal cream cheese frostings are the best (:
ReplyDeleteHaha I guess if you are a fan of coconut, you wouldn't mind having them as a topping! But I only like the orangey kinds found in kueh tutus haha.
