Loysel's Toy @ Kampong Bugis | Arbite

Last Friday's lunch at Loysel's Toy:

Iced Mocha (S$6 each):

Prawn Salad (S$8) - with really crunchy prawns, mixed greens, tomato and cucumber drizzled in citrus dressing:

Eggs Ben on Toast with Salmon (S$12) - this didn't look appealing to me initially because the plate is so empty and unpresentable. But after licking the hollandaise sauce (which has this peppery taste), I couldn't wait to gobble the eggs down hahaha. And I really did because they were so good:

Beef Sandwich (S$13) + Bacon and Fried Egg (S$2) - I didn't try this, but the portion's huge. Comes with potato chips at the side:

Earl Grey Tea Cake (S$4.20) - I love this!!! The cake's a little hard though, but the earl grey taste is really strong:

Prices are pretty affordable here and food's good too! :)

B For Breakfast (S$19.90) - comes with scrambled eggs, bacon, braised borlotti beans, grilled tomato, smoked beef sausage, sautéed mushrooms, toasted brioche and sautéed fingerling potatoes:

Truffle Beef Burger (S$18.90) - truffle-infused grilled beef served with mushrooms (I got mine without), grilled tomato, onions and mozzarella cheese (which I couldn't really see/taste):

I've been eating at cafes almost everyday/alternate days for these 2 weeks and spending all my money on food. Not good at all - for my weight as well as my wallet :(

OMG Bryan Yang are you freaking kidding me?! How is it that that post has not been pushed down when this post has overtaken it at the top?!

And haven't you realised the more you email me about this, the more I'm just gonna post these screenshots up?? I think it's time you use your brains. And stop with all the threats (I don't need you to 'warm' me either).

Department of Caffeine (D.O.C.)

Seems like recently I'm updating more and more frequently haha.
Anyways this was Saturday's lunch! :)

Cafe Mocha (S$5.50)

Main Course + Salad (S$15) - For the mains we had roast chicken (the meat was a little too hard in my opinion) and for the salad we chose pasta with shrimps, cherry tomatoes and plum dressing. I couldn't taste the plum dressing at all, but the pasta was reeeaaallly good! It wasn't very flavourful but neither was it bland. However the portion's a little too small for a main course, we still felt hungry after finishing all the food:

French Toast (S$15) - brioche stuffed with maple syrup bananas, served with vanilla yogurt, almonds and blueberries:

It was pretty crowded when we went there at about ~2pm, people streamed in mostly in twos but fortunately the turnover rate is pretty high.
There's no GST and no service charge here (Y)!

Happy 23rd to me @ Privé | Canopy Garden Dining

So I've officially turned 23 on the 5th of June. So old, so old. I don't wanna grow up :(
Anyway I had lunch at Privé @ Keppel Bay with Shane:

Apple juice (S$8) and full pint of Heineken (S$14) on a hot hot day:

Smoked Salmon salad (S$17) - Can't believe I actually ordered a SALAD. I've never ordered salads in my whole life hahahaha. But after having this, I've started to appreciate them! Anyway I love the honey-lemon vinaigrette that was drizzled on it:

Smoked Salmon Pretzel Sandwich (S$17) - smoked Norwegian salmon, pickled beets, dill cream cheese, red onions and Japanese mustard wrapped in a chewy pretzel sandwich roll:

Eggs Royale (S$16) - Traditional English muffins topped with smoked Norwegian salmon, poached eggs & Hollandaise sauce. I've a few friends who told me Privé's poached eggs are the best, but personally I prefer ones with more runny yolks. The muffins are a little too buttery for me too:

Added some Grandma's Baked beans (S$4) to go along:

And a really tall slice of Rich Chocolate cake (S$8) as my birthday cake!:

Don't know what I was trying to do hahaha:

And then I met up with Windy at Canopy who celebrated for me! It was raining so heavily when I reached there the sky was dark and gloomy :( I hate rainy days. Pictures were taken after the rain got lighter:

I ordered another salad (Smoked duck salad) hahahah officially addicted to salads. And this was my 2nd cake of the day! Hehe:

23 and I'm still in love with balloons and Minnie Mouse haha:

And this was dinner at Cafe Melba on Friday for Bev's advanced birthday celebration!:

With Jo who just came back to SG after 5 months in UB:

--------------------------

I'm always excited about my birthday. It makes me feel special. I love it when friends and family gather around me to sing a birthday song and shower me with love. But I also tend to fear a lot when the day actually comes. I'm always afraid (and am very paranoid) that people whom I hold dear to won't remember this day, that I won't get any birthday wishes from them and then I'll feel hurt.
I love it when friends don't need Facebook/any other social media reminders, but rather they already know my birth date by heart. I love it when people stay by the clock and send me wishes once the clock strikes 12am because they want me to know how important I am to them. Because for them I'd do the same.
