[ADVERT] Swensen's SG50 Moon Gems

In celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival this SG50, Swensen's has introduced their SG50 Moon Gems mooncakes which feature the iconic Merlion emblem.

These ice-cream mooncakes come with a brand new pastry skin recipe with an improved texture, celebrating some of Singapore’s most popular local flavours - Crunchy Milo, Lychee Dreams, Yummy Yam (all 3 are new), Strawberry Fields Forever, as well as the all-time-favorites Durian Royale and Sticky Chewy Chocolate!





Interestingly, the moon gems are encased in a beautiful lantern box complete with LED lights and batteries. Time for a new lantern this Mid-Autumn festival? ;)







When asked to pick 4 flavours, I chose the newest three as well as my favourite Durian Royale!

Lychee Dreams - made up of the translucent white flesh of lychee blended with Swensen’s Lychee ice-cream, this was pretty refreshing but a little too sweet for me.

Durian Royale - durian lovers will definitely loooove this mooncake filled with the creamy flavour of D24 durian ice cream. Still on the top of my list! :D

Crunchy Milo - this has a malty taste of Milo and is filled with marshmallows and crunchy almonds. I felt like I was drinking Milo milkshake hahaha because it was really very rich!

Yummy Yam - Swensen’s signature Yam ice-cream has returned by popular demand in the form of their moon gems. It is said to have you 'reminiscing of the good old days' with its aroma and sweet taste. I'm not a fan of anything yam but I chose this flavour for my parents to try.

Mother's Day is exactly a week from now and I am conducting a giveaway that might interest you! Read on to find out more :)

Swensen's has recently sent me a cake in celebration of Mother's Day. Named Heart of Youth, it has a winning flavour blend of Vanilla with Chocolate Fudge Chunks. I usually avoid anything Vanilla because I dislike the taste a lot, but together with the choc chunks it actually tasted good to me!

[ADVERT] Swensen's Moonstruck! mooncake collection

Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner, and it's one of my favourite festivals! I loooove mooncakes, especially traditional ones with a salted eggyolk within. It is also the time where little kids carry lanterns in the park (aww... I miss those days! Do they still do it anymore??) and where families gather around to celebrate.

The kind people of Swensen's recently gifted me with a box of their snowskin ice-cream mooncakes! Besides the all-time favourite flavours like Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Durian Royale, Swensen's has also introduced 3 new flavours - Queen of Earl Grey, Pink Guava Romance and Mango Fantasy:







Top-left: Queen of Earl Grey - a medley of Earl Grey ice-cream infused with flavorful almond bits. I'm both an earl grey and almond fan, so this is my favourite of the 4 flavours I've picked!:



Top-right: Pink Guava Romance - equal parts tangy and saccharine, this features delectable Pink Guava ice-cream enrobed in a smooth pastry skin. This is really fruity and refreshing, good for those who want to steer away from overly-sweet flavours:



Left: Durian Royale - made from authentic D24 durians, this truly feels like you're eating durians! This all-time favorite is rich and creamy and promises to satisfy durian fanatics:



Bottom-left: Sticky Chewy Chocolate - filled with their signature Sticky Chewy Chocolate ice-cream which I too love, real chocolate fans should not miss this out!:
