2D1N @ Montigo Resorts: 27th - 28th May 2013

Last Monday I had a quick getaway with Ruby and Sheryl to Montigo, Batam. After seeing pictures of all the awesome sceneries Montigo has to offer, we couldn't help but checked it out ourselves:

Day 1:

Going in to our 3-storey hillside villa!:

This is the living room on the 1st storey which has a mini kitchen, verrryyy comfortable sofa seats and a television set with Wii. There's also a toilet with a shower room and 2 storage rooms (I think) on this level:

(I actually thought these apples were fake until I saw Sheryl munching on one of them hahaha):

The balcony/dining area:

The 2nd level has 2 bedrooms: one with 2 single beds, a TV set and a toilet + bathroom, the other one (which we slept in) has a queen-sized bed, a TV set, a toilet + bathroom and a bathtub:

And this is the roof terrace on the 3rd level which is really huge and the view up here is breathtaking. You can hold a BBQ here too:

Our private pool:

Headed to the Main Pool after that:

The sunset was breathtaking, especially the view from the roof terrace. These photos don't do justice to it:

And we called room service for dinner! Fish & Chips, Linguine Aglio Olio, Truffles fries, American Breakfast and fresh juices:

Day 2:

Rise & Shine! The 3 of us didn't have a good sleep the previous night probably cos: we were squeezing in the same bed, the music from Ruby's iPod suddenly seemed to be blasting in the middle of the night I had to get up and turn it down, it got really cold a few hours later because we didn't have enough blanket, I sleeptalked and Sheryl thought I was talking to her hahahahah. But anyways, here's the view from the bed!:

Had our complimentary breakfast at TADD's:

Off for our snorkelling session! This ATV ride is scarrrrryyy hahaha:

On the boat!:

We didn't stay down in the waters for long because it was really murky there wasn't much for us to see :( What a pity.

Checked out at 1.30pm Batam time, but our ferry departure time's only at 4.30pm:

I cabbed straight to TRDO training right after we reached SG. TIRED TTM.
(Anyway, Heats was yesterday and my team made it to the Finals!! Catch us on 14th June at TRCC @ 8pm, tickets are at $20 each!)

Missing Montigo already :( Service there's really awesome, everyone's so friendly and there's always a buggy waiting to fetch you anywhere around the villa.
I need another getaway soon.

    1. Hi! Sorry I'm not too sure, my friend booked them for us. But we spent a total of $600 on the villa + ferry + taxes (so each of us paid $200)! :)
      And thank you! Hahaha.

  3. Gosh Montigo looks absolutely breathtaking!! How much did you spend for the entire trip? And how much does it cost to stay at this villa? Snorkeling is a totally awesome experience, I did it in Redang too and I regretted not having an underwater camera with me then!

    1. I only changed S$60, which was used for the room service dinner, snorkelling, snacks and tips! The villa (per night) + ferry cost S$178/pax, and S$20 for the ferry taxes. So each of us paid $200 :)
Yeah it's fun, but the waters we were in were really dirty and murky we only spotted a few tiny fishes :( My previous experience at Bintan was a lot better!

    2. Wow I see! Reasonably cheap I must say! :) I'd say Redang is better for snorkeling, the waters were much cleaner and you could easily see the corals in the sea from the jetty, that's how clear the waters were. Beach holidays are always awesome! :D
Now I want to go to Phuket, Krabi, Bali, Greece.. basically anywhere with beautiful beaches!

  4. Hi just wanted to ask did you drop at nongsa ferry terminal or batam ferry terminal? How did you get to the resort from the terminal? Did they provide a shuttle service?

    1. Hi! We dropped off at Nongsa Ferry Terminal. Yup there's a shuttle service to the resort, which is about a 5-minute journey :)

  5. Hi. Can I know which website did your friend booked the resort? Because the official Montigo Resort website for Hillside villa is actually quite expensive. Thanks! :)

    1. Hello. My friend booked through an agency called Price Breakers.
But hmmm.. she just told me her friend managed to book the villa at $500+ for 2 nights (we got it at $600 for just 1 night)! Maybe they offer different pricings at different periods, I'm not too sure sorry! :/

    1. Hello we reached at about 12pm+ Batam time, and checked in at about 1pm? You can request to check in early, but that also means you have to check out early (like we did).
      You're welcome! :)

    1. Hi, I'm not too sure but I doubt so! Their prices are all stated in rupiah, so I guess they only accept that? Haha sorry I don't know! :(

    2. oh it's ok! sorry to bug you! was the watersports expensive?

      Delete
    3. It depends on the type of sports you do! Ranges from S$15-$25 per person? :) Scuba diving's about S$20 for 1.5 hours.

    4. Scuba diving mean real diving and not snookering right?
Anything to see when scuba diving there?

    5. Oops, I meant snorkelling.
Nope (I mentioned in my post already!) the waters were too murky to see anything :/
