The Provision Shop | The Audacious Cakery

Monday's lunch at this new little cafe called The Provision Shop:

I love the exterior of the cafe, with its vintage-looking tables and the colourful tiny chairs:

Long Black (S$4):

Nuts About Smoked Salmon (S$16) - a really unique salad consisting of smoked salmon (yum!), salmon roe (double yum!), cucumber, walnut, asparagus and fresh mint leaf. There are supposed to be apples as well, but apparently they were out on apples that day and didn't bother informing me until I enquired about the missing apples. They weren't very apologetic about it either tsk:

Belinda's Perogis (S$5) - traditional hot Polish dumplings with mashed potato and ricotta cheese fillings, topped with bacon, onions and sour cream. I loved this a lot! The slight blandness of the mashed potatoes is compensated by the salty toppings, and everything just kinda melts in the mouth mmmmmmmmmmm:

Chicken, Mozzarella & Grilled Mediterranean Veg Sandwich (S$14) - I actually went there to try their highly raved Reuben Sandwich but sadly it was OOS that day :( Didn't have a good impression of this chicken sandwich when it first arrived at the table (it looks so simple and ordinary) but I was wrong! The stuffing is really generous and the chicken chunks are pretty huge. The smoked paprika aioli blends really well with the veggies and the chicken too:

We wanted to have desserts at The Provision Shop initially, but decided to head down to The Audacious Cakery instead which is just a block away:

The cakes we had are good, but nothing fantastic :( Perhaps the others would be better! I really loved the service though :)
