2D1N Batam: 3rd - 4th Oct 2014

Went to Batam for a short weekend getaway earlier last month! Travelling is so addictive.

Day 1:

We stayed at Batam View Beach Resort which was pretty decent. It is just beside Montigo!:

Headed to the beach which was of walking distance from our hotel, and we kayaked for 30 minutes since there wasn't much to do.

A dreadfully hot weather called for some ice-cream:

Turkeys! Hahah:

Had lunch after that at our hotel's restaurant, Wangi Melati:

There was this family of cats always loitering outside the restaurant, and they were so cute!! The daddy cat was black but he didn't turn up until the next day:

Rented bikes but we were only allowed to cycle within the resort:

Banana Boat time! It was my 1st time trying and it was a thrilling experience hahahaha I begged the person not to make us fall off the boat. I was screaming my head off the whole time:

Cabbed to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall which was in the city. It took about 40 minutes (I slept throughout hahaha) and cost ~S$35 for a round trip:

Had a seafood dinner at Happiness Restaurant, and it was so cheap and good!! My favourites were the Beef Cubes and Salted Egg Yolk Crab:

It cost us less than S$30 for all these.

Played at Timezone and Windy decided to punch himself hahahaha:

Day 2:

Woke up early for the hotel's breakfast buffet!:

The cats were around again! Hehehe we fed them some food this time. The parents kept snatching from the little ones though, we had a hard time distracting them:

Cabbed out to Nagoya Mall again and we had lunch at A&W because who can resist their curly fries??

Ended our night with some Sate and Martabak, just around the corner of Nagoya Hill Mall, which were so sinfully good:

Look at thisssssss! I love the mutton and beef Sate as they were tougher and chewier. The sauce was so special and delicious too:

Our Martabak - with chocolate, crushed peanuts and condensed milk. A little like our hum chim peng but sweeter and crispier:

My favourite drink there, the Teh Botol:

And we took the last ferry back to SG!:

  3. Good article, Batam View is rather a long way our but it was good to see you made an effort to go to Nagoya and especially good you mixed the malls with the street life.
