Eggs & Berries @ Westgate + Unusual Palate

Last Friday's lunch at Eggs & Berries @ Westgate, the outlet that was recently opened in the West! Thankful that I don't have to travel all the way East to try this:

Sea Salt & Vinegar Fries (S$7.90) - we ordered these because I didn't want to have truffle fries again, but it was apparently a wrong decision haha. The fries taste nothing like sea salt and vinegar... :(
My friend went to try the truffle fries after that and she said they were good. I shall opt for that the next time! The truffle fries aren't good too in my opinion sigh:

Aglio Olio King River Prawn (S$19.90) - aglio olio pasta served with king river prawn, wild mushrooms, onions, bacon and melted cheese, topped with a poached egg. One of my favourite aglio olios! The spiciness level is just right for me. I broke the egg and mixed it with the pasta and I loved how the combination turned out:

The Genie (S$15.80) - triple eggs omelette served with toasted white bread, rosti and salad. You get to choose 3 fillings of your choice; we had bacon, chicken and mushrooms. The omelette's sufficiently fluffy and everything else tastes pretty okay too:

Last Tuesday's dinner at Unusual Palate:

Freshly Squeezed Apple Juice (S$4):

Truffle Fries (S$5) - the truffle taste isn't strong at all, and after awhile the fries just taste really bland. Again, I dislike thick fries:

Beef Bolognaise (S$8) - pasta (choice of organic spaghetti or penne) with braised minced beef in tomato sauce. Don't be fooled by its simplistic appearance, it actually tastes a lot better than it looks! The pasta is cooked to perfection and the minced beef is really tender. The tomato sauce isn't too overpowering too:

Eggs Benny (S$13) - poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, ham, hashbrown, salad and focaccia bread. I loved the hashbrown because it tastes a lot like McDonald's' hahaha and rarely do you get such a huge slice of ham accompanying your eggs!:
