[ADVERT] Dinner @ The Provision Shop

8DAYS kindly invited me to a food tasting session at The Provision Shop on Monday night to try out their newly launched dinner menu! I have visited TPS once for their lunch (HERE) and I've always wanted to head back again:

Gazpacho with Avocado, Sweet Corn Salsa and Tangerine Oil (S$9) - a tomato-based vegetable soup that is traditionally served cold, so it was quite a different experience for us that day. The soup causes a fizzy and tingling feeling on your tongue; initially we thought it was because of the Sea Salt Lemonade (S$6) we had (which is really good btw), but the chef explained that the soup contains some lemon juice and vinegar which probably cause this chemical reaction:

Caprese: Tomatoes, Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil, Balsamic & Extra Virgin Olive Oil (S$12) - I didn't really like this because there's too much cheese in it, would prefer if there were more greens instead:

Steamed Mussels, Fresh Basil and Fregola Pasta (S$18) - supposedly served with clams but the chef let us have mussels that day. I feel that the mussels are too small and the pasta's too tiny to feel anything either :(

Burrata & Homemade Walnut Pesto (S$18) - with creamy mozzarella, sea salt, homemade walnut pesto and warm bread. My favourite dish for that night, and probably everyone else's as well haha. I looooove the warm bread which is so crunchy and crispy, plus the sides are slightly burnt it gives off this charred taste when you bite into it. We smeared the cheese and pesto on the bread and mmmmmmm we just couldn't stop after that:

Spiced Rubbed Sakura Chicken, Roasted Tomatilla Salsa, Feta, Chickpea & Coriander Salad (S$16) - the chicken's really juicy (even though it looks dry) and we love how crispy the skin is. The spices add an extra kick to it and it tastes especially good dipped in the salsa:

Truffle Alfredo Pasta - this isn't in the menu yet, but we really hope it gets put in eventually! I am not a fan of cream-based pasta and definitely not cabonara, but this appealed to me because of the really strong truffle taste (though still a little too creamy for me). I don't suggest eating it alone because it gets 'gelat' after awhile:

Contechino Sausage, Cannellini Beans, Zuchinni, Butternut Squash & Fresh Herbs in a Light Chicken Broth (S$18) - at first glance these looked like luncheon meat, but the chef said that they are actually sausages. Hmmm. We weren't really convinced because after trying them they still taste like luncheon meat to us hahaha. I love the chicken broth a lot, but I feel that the sausages are too oily and fatty:

Blueberry-Lemon Cake - I don't think I need to repeat how much I love lemon cakes! :9 This is really moist due to the smooth almond flour that goes into it, and overall it tastes tangy and sweet at the same time. Oh it's gluten-free too!:

Creme Brûlée (S$3.50) - these are made with sugars specially meant for creme brûlées which explains why they taste so good. The custard's really smooth and creamy too. We unanimously preferred the original (vanilla) flavour because we found the pistachio version too almond-y and a little artificial in my opinion:

Blackforest ice-cream (S$5):

Cafe Latte (S$5) - the coffee's okay, nothing impressive (probably because I was already too bloated by the end of the whole session hahah) except for the cute art!:

Thank you 8DAYS Eat for the invite! :)
