On The Table @ Pasir Panjang Road | The Lokal

2 weeks ago, Windy and I checked out this relatively new cafe called On The Table, opened by the brains behind Lola's Cafe. Food here's really similar to the ones at Lola's so we enjoyed it a lot! It is so much more spacious and quiet here too:

Crispy Honey Wings (S$9) - these have become one of my favourite wings ever since Lola's because they are really so crispy and tender at the same time. I love the honey and spices that add on a different texture as well as a mixture of tastes to the wings:

Seafood Aglio Olio (S$16) - linguine with squid, prawns, chilli and garlic. The pasta's of the right softness and somehow it doesn't have the 'typical' aglio olio taste to it but we actually loved it this way. Very light but flavourful too, they could probably do with more squid though hehe:

Ultimate Croissant (S$13) - butter croissant with honey-glazed bacon, ham, scrambled egg, mayo and cheddar cheese. I'm on a croissant and scrambled eggs craze recently so I'll definitely order if they are on the menu. The croissant's huge with a flaky and crispy exterior, the egg is creamy and moist and they go so well with the bacon and ham. I actually love how the mayo and cheese help to enhance the flavour of the dish too (yes, coming from someone who hates the two!):

Huge-ass glorious scrambled egg!:

On The Table's in my Top 10 cafes list now hehe, I'll be back soon for more! They serve really good ice-cream too I heard, but we didn't try it.

Lunch @ The Lokal:

Cafe Mocha:

Flat White:

Big Bowl of French Fries (S$8) - I was honestly quite surprised by these as they are unlike the usual thick fries I've tried and disliked. The edges are very crispy and I love how they're on the slightly salty side:

Roast Beef on Rye (S$17) - with caramelised onions, watercress and grain mustard creme fraiche. Slightly overpriced for a simple sandwich, but tastes pretty good nonetheless - just that the rye bread's a little too hard for me:

Plate of Smoked Mackerel & Salmon (S$22) - served with pickles, cold potato salad and pita bread. The smoked salmon's served really chilled and it is SOOO thick and yummy! I quite like the potato salad as well, but the mackerel's not as impressive:

Hello, tree :'D
