Food spam ahead! Some of what I've had over the past week:

Lunch @ Drury Lane, this newly opened cafe in Tanjong Pagar:











Hot Chocolate (S$4.50):



Salmon Baked Eggs (S$10) - consists of smoked salmon, capers, cheese and rocket. The eggs were runny enough, and I really love how everything that is buried beneath the salmon and salad taste so good together; probably the only baked eggs that I've enjoyed eating so far:





The Big 94 (S$12) - comes with eggs, sausages, mushrooms, honey cured turkey bacon, baked beans and toast. A really hearty breakfast dish which is really worth the price:



Cloud 9 ($S9) - fluffly ricotta pancakes with daily fruit compote. I loooovvve these!! They taste like french toasts somehow haha. The fruit compote goes really well with the pancakes too. 2 of these just weren't enough for me:





Peanut butter & Nutella tart - a combination of my 2 favourite spreads, it's no wonder I really liked it:

Waffles here are reeeeaally reaaally good. I've heard friends comment about how good they are and after trying them myself, I totally agree! Ice-cream is really creamy and dense too.

And then we headed to dinner at Canopy! I was there for dinner previously, but I thought their brunch menu was better so I went back again!:



Beef cubes (~S$12) - I think these are served on sauce infused with red wine, we loved them so much we had 2 servings:



Chicken Parmigiana - breaded chicken thigh topped with tomato basil sauce, cheddar and parmesan, served with fries and salad. The cheese tasted more like mozzarella to me, and it felt like eating crispy chicken pizza hahaha really yummy:



Eggs Royale (S$13) - poached eggs with smoked salmon, pretty good but nothing fantastic!:







One thing that I didn't like about my experience in Canopy was their reeeaallly poor staff service. There were about 3-4 staff visible on shift with only about 4 tables occupied by customers (including us), but they were all so inattentive and unresponsive. They weren't even busy with anything important and sometimes they just disappeared to somewhere and the whole floor area was empty of staff.
There was this guy who kept pretending he didn't see my raised hand despite walking past it a few times. And then there was this lady who saw my hand, looked at it, and looked away without any acknowledgement/expression and continued whatever she was doing for the next few seconds. The next moment, she came over. Errrrr... can't you at least nod or something to acknowledge me and not be so rude? Calling for the bill was so difficult as well that my friend had to walk up to the cashier personally to ask.
I've read reviews about their slow/poor staff service too and based on my past 2 trips there, I have to say it is really true.
